The Bantry/West Cork Electoral Area Independent Danny Collins Tipped To Top The Poll

This is his first time out and the distribution of his surplus will determine the faith of several other candidates

County mayor, Fianna Fail's Patrick Gerard Murphy is expected to be elected on the second count, but Tallymen say it's impossible to say who will benefit from the rest of the next preference votes

However Fine Gael's Katie Murphy in Schull, and Holly McKeever Cairns of the Social Democrats are both expected to benefit

The Skibbereen Tally is completed and it looks like Fianna Fail will take 44% of the vote, followed by Fine Gael at 23%, Independents 20%, Sinn Fein 7% and  Social Democrats 3%

In Bandon/Kinsale Independent Alan Coleman and Fianna Fail's Gillian Coughlan look set to be on course to be elected with Fine Gael's Kevin Murphy and John O'Sullivan all polling well
