The City's Main Thoroughfare Should Be Totally Car-Free

That's according to Green Party Councillor Oliver Moran who says drivers should not look at Patrick Street as a route through the city. 

The call follows figures from the Gardaí which show that just 66 drivers were fined for flouting the daily private car ban between 3pm and 6:30pm since the start of the year. 

Traders say they have seen no benefit since the ban to prioritise public transport, taxis and cyclists was introduced in August last year. 

However speaking to RedFM News, Cllr Oliver Moran says traffic restrictions should be gradually extended until cars are totally banned from the street:
