The countdown to Christmas begins as the city lights up for Christmas
The Christmas lights have been switched on in the city this evening.
Due to Covid19 and Level Five Restrictions, the traditional switch on of the Christmas Lights in the city which attracts thousands of people every year was unable to take place this year.
However it won't take away from the shine of the city that's glistening this evening as the Lord Mayor of Cllr. Joe Kavanagh lit up the streets of Cork for Christmas.
The city streets have been transformed into a festive wonderland with over 6.8km of lights with a focus on energy efficiency.
