The County Mayor Has Hit Out At The Allocation Of Funding Under The Rural Regeneration Fund
Only one application from Cork County Council was successful under the scheme
The €1 billion fund, is a key component of Project Ireland 2040, which has already recognised that Cork will be one of Ireland's fastest growing regions, and this fund sets out to support the rejuvenation of communities and boost job creation.
However the County Mayor Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy, has expressed his disappointment that just one of the 48 applications from the County Council secured funding of €276,000, while acknowledging that Kinsale Library received over €2 million last year at the first round announcement.
Speaking to RedFM News County Mayor Patrick Gerard Murphy says Cork is a county of endless possibiliities but needs Government support to fully deliver for the people and is calling for Cork to be prioritised in further funding under the scheme.
