The European Commission Is Looking To Ensure All Vehicles Are Fitted With The Latest Technological Safety Features
It's proposing that cars, trucks and buses be equipped with advanced safety features
Features such as sensors to alert drivers to pedestrians, cyclists and oncoming vehicles.
It also wants to provide financial assistance to Member States to deal with accident blackspots.
So far, 138 road users have died on Irish roads, including 13 killed in Cork City and County.
Grace Bolton of the EU Commission office in Ireland says it wants to extend the use of innovative safety features.
