The Implementation Of The National Planning Framework Could Be Devastating For The County
That's according to an internal report by Cork County Council which suggests that population growth in the city will come at the expense of growth and investment in the county.
The population of the county will decrease from 417,000 to 335,000 people when the city boundary extension is implemented, while population growth is set to increase by only half a percent per year up to 2040.
The Irish Examiner reports that County Council Chief Executive Tim Lucey says they plan to highlight the effect the plan would have for the local authority
