The latest on Cork roads as Storm Brian looms

There was high winds in many areas of Cork overnight however Gardaí in the city and county say there was no overnight damage on roads.

There is still some existing damage however and gardaí say the Crosshaven Road is still blocked by Drake's Pool with a fallen tree - local diversions are in place there.

A tree has been reported resting on lines outside Doneraile between Brough Cross and Derryroe. Gardaí and ESB have been notified. Extreme caution is advised on approach.

Elsewhere the Castlemartyr/Garryvoe Rd (R632) reopened between Ladysbridge & Garryvoe following flooding however  care is still advised.

However surface water has been reported in Castlemartyr in particular on the Mogeely Road.

In Castlemartyr village gardaí say the traffic lights there are still out.

Ballyduff Road is closed in Kilworth due to flooding and local diversions are in place.

Road conditions are expected to deteriorate as Storm Brian hits and speaking to RedFM News Sgt Peter Murphy of Anglesea St Garda Station says listeners should again avoid unnecessary journeys:
