The Long Awaited Cork Events Centre Could Be Delayed By A Further Six Months

The delay follows a request from planners for BAM to supply a report on the potential impact of the project on two conservation areas in Cork Harbour.

The Echo reports that a planning decision was due this week after BAM supplied significant further information on their proposal earlier this month.

It's not the first time the project has hit a stumbling block- the project was previously delayed when €9 million of a €30 million state funding package was classified as a loan.

The sod was turned on the development over 3 years ago.
