The Marina In Cork Has Become Fully Pedestrianised As Of Yesterday

It's to facilitate social distancing in the City Centre

The popular outdoor amenity in Blackrock is widely used by Leesiders for walking, running, and cycling.

A number of clubs also use the Marina for rowing and boating on the River Lee.

The route, which stretches from the entrance to Pairc UI Chaoimh to the junction with Church Avenue is now temporarily pedestrianised 7 days a week.

The measures have been put in place by Cork City Council, as the City moves towards reopening the economy in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
