The New Cork Cancer Centre At The Bons Secours Hospital Will Allow Cancer Teams On Both Sides Of The Atlantic To Consult Each Other
The centre is at the new €77 million northern block extension
It is in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre, who are considered to be the world leaders in radiotherapy.
Cancer patients at the Bons will be able to avail of the most technologically advanced radiotherapy services in the south of the country, including stereotactic technology which delivers precise and targeted radiation.
Speaking to RedFM News, consultant radiation oncologist at the Bons Dr Paul Kelly says the collaboration between the Bons and the University of Pittsburgh will lead to better outcome for patients with rare forms of cancer:
