The Number Of College Students Attending Sexual Consent Workshops At Universities Has Skyrocketed In The Past Year

The surge comes following the popularity of the Me Too movement, as well as a number of high profile cases in recent month
The latest figures indicate a 600% increase in the number of students signing up for the training courses in some colleges.
The University of Limerick saw a significant jump from 70 students taking consent training in 2017 to over 500 students so far this year.
In August, the Higher Education Minister Mary Mitchell O'Connor called for consent training to become mandatory for students at third-level education.
Speaking to RedFM News, UCC's Welfare Officer Niamh Connery believes talking about consent is a valuable skill to have.
