The Plebiscite On A Directly Elected Mayor For Cork City Won't Be Counted Until Monday

The count will be carried out at City Hall

However early indications suggest it could be a "no" vote as there appeared to be lot of confusion for voters around the new role.

The elected official - proposed for Cork, Limerick and Waterford - would have executive functions and perform those for a five-year term.

Cork City Councillor John Sheehan who is running for re-election remains hopeful the plebiscite will pass.
