The Public Health Act Falls Short When It Comes To Alcohol And Sports Sponsorship
That's according to Alcohol Action Ireland
It says in order to change our behaviour towards alcohol we need to separate it from our sports events.
The changes which are due to be implemented will ban sports sponsorship at events targeted at children and young people however alcohol will still be able to sponsor sports events which children may be attending.
Speaking to RedFM News Sheila Gilheany of Alcohol Action Ireland says sporting events are no place for alcohol advertising:
