The Rising Cost Of Attending Third Level Taking A Toll On Some Students Leeside
That's according to Gerry Garvey from Saint Vincent de Paul
The charity revealed it's on track to spend over €200,000 helping students in Cork who are struggling to pay for the costs associated with college.
Between 7 and 10 students a week are turning to SVP for help due to the cost of rent and college fees.
Earlier this month, housing charities denounced plans by University College Cork to increase the cost of its student accommodation by up to 11.5%.
Speaking to RedFM News, St Vincent De Paul's Gerry Garvey says students forced to drop out of college due to financial pressure may be missing out of the chance to set themselves up for life:
