The RTB Will Hold Another Round Of Hearings This Morning Into Appeals By Leeside Apartments Residents

The residents are appealing against eviction orders issued by vulture fund Lugus Capital.
This morning's hearings will bring the number of appeals heard by the Residential Tenancies Board into double figures and it is expected that a verdict on all the appeals will issue within the next week
Leeside Apartments were purchased late last year by Lugus and notices to quit were issued shortly afterwards to all residents on the grounds of substantial refurbishment.
However residents hit back claiming the work could be done without eviction and the independent report they commisioned by a consulting engineers firm confirmed this
More than 20 households are facing eviction and this case could have national implications as it's expected the hearings will act as a test case for the new RTB guidelines on substantial refurbishments.
