The Taoiseach Confirms Shoe Shops Are To Be Allowed To Open To Sell Children's Shoes

The bookings to measure and sell shoes will be appointment only.

The government is finalising changes to the regulations after requests from parents.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin confirmed the news in the Dáil:

"We are finalising specific guidance. This will be published and will be outlined in the regulations that would facilitate shoe shops in particular shoe fitting services to measure, children and to provide for children on appointment online or by phone call, and the only bet has been to provide that service and the subsequent sale of children's shoes, only."
