Weather conditions across the city and county are calm this morning ahead of Storm Lorenzo which is expected to bring winds of up to 130 kilometres an hour to Cork and some western coastal counties later.

Cork County Council have warned that all coastal areas including Bantry, Castletownbere, Schull, Castletownend, Union Hall, Leap, Baltimore, Kinsale, Carrigaline and Midleton are all at risk of coastal flooding this morning.

Cork Airport say the storm will have a minimal impact on flights, however they will be monitoring the situation.

Cork Simon Community's outreach team are stepping up their efforts this morning ahead of the arrival of Storm Lorenzo and will be around until the early afternoon to encourage people to seek shelter before the storm arrives later today.
