The Transport Minister Has Been Called On To Initiate Operation Free Flow In Cork

The initiative, which was first introduced in Dublin in 1996, saw dozens of extra gardaí drafted in to ensure traffic black spots were kept moving at peak times.
The calls come amid ongoing traffic congestion in the city in the morning and evening with complete gridlock in areas like the South Ring, Jack Lynch Tunnel and North Ring Road when a traffic incident occurs.
Speaking to RedFM News Labour's Peter Horgan says we can't continue to allow the city to grind to a halt on a daily and hourly basis:
