There Has Been A Mixed Response To This Years Budget Leeside 

Cork Chamber say the plan doesn't do enough to stimulate the building of apartments in the City.

However mortgage brokers say the extension of the Help to Buy scheme brings certainty to the market.

Cork Simon Community says a €20 million increase in homeless spending could allow them to offer increased day services, however St Vincent De Paul say the budget could lead to people being 'trapped in poverty.' 

There were long queues at filling stations across Cork as motorists filled their tanks before the 2c increase in the price of petrol and diesel came into effect at midnight. 

However despite the criticism, Finance Minster Paschal Donohue says he stands over the budget:
