There Is A New Lord Mayor On Leeside This Morning
It follows last night's election in the Concert Hall
The annual meeting of the Cork City Council and City Hall saw Cllr Joe Kavanagh elected by 20 votes to 8.
The Fine Gael councillor, originally from Cobh and living in Montenotte was first elected to the City Council in 2011, and last night defeated independent councillor Thomas Moloney.
In his first speech as Lord Mayor, Cllr Joe Kavanagh said his main priority is to work towards the safe recovery of the economy in Cork City.
