'There's No One In Town In The Afternoon - Our Tills Don't Lie'
That's according to Susan Ryan, the head of a newly formed traders group in Cork City
The group are calling for the Patrick Street private car ban to be reversed.
The Cork City Traders, broke away from Cork Business Association, which has been broadly supportive of the ban since its reintroduction last year, praising the Park & Ride initiative and others put in place by City Hall.
Susan Ryan, owns a beauty salon on South Main Street, and she says derelict sites in the city, soaring rates and now the traffic changes on Patrick Street mean small businesses in the city are suffering.
The newly formed group, which represents up to 40 traders, intend to canvas the city council in an effort to get the Patrick Street private ban between 3pm and 6.30pm scrapped.
Speaking to RedFM News Susan Ryan says the lack of footfall in the city is a major concern for all traders and she belives the City Council is not listening to their fears.
