Thousands expected in Cork for water protest

Thousands of people are expected to descend on the city centre at lunch time today for one of the biggest anti-water protests seen in Cork.

The rally is getting underway at 2 o'clock on the grand parade and is coinciding with a number of other nationwide protests.

Campaigners are hoping to highlight the issue once again ahead of the upcoming general election and are calling on the government to scrap the fee.

Speaking to Cork's RedFM these protesters say the government needs to abolish water charges as people are not backing down:
