Thousands Raised To Help Cork Mum Receive Cancer Treatment Abroad
Nearly €64,000 has been raised for a young Cork mother who made an emotional appeal a fortnight ago for help to fund her cancer treatment abroad
37 year-old Caroline Sweeney from Macroom is battling Stage 4 cancer which has led to her losing her tongue and last month her doctors told her that due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, they only options left in Ireland is palliative chemotherapy...
Caroline and her family have examined alternative options abroad and through crowd funding she managed to travel to Germany yesterday for alternative treatment
Her sister Michelle travelled with her and says Caroline had the procedure yesterday and is due to travel back for a check up in four weeks
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Michelle says the Professor outlined the average success rate of this procedure
