Thousands Set To Pass Through Cork Airport This Weekend

Up to 40,000 passengers are expected to pass through Cork Airport this Bank Holiday weekend.

It comes as passenger numbers continue to grow at the airport, with an increase of 6% in traffic in July of this year, compared with the same time last year.

 

The increase is being credited to the recently launched transatlantic route to Providence Rhode Island, the first direct connection from Cork to the US.

 

News of strong numbers has been welcomed at the airport, following the disappointing cancellation of the WOW Air flights to Reykjavik.
