Three die in Munster water accidents in 24 hours

Post mortems are due to be carried out on the bodies of two women who died in a swimming accident off the Kerry coast last night. The women - in their 60s and 70s - were swimming at Inch Strand when they got into difficulties shortly after 7 pm. They were rescued and airlifted to hospital but died a short time later. It's the second tragedy in Munster waters in the past 24 hours and follows the death of a man in his 60s who failed to make the swim to shore with two other crew after their yacht capsized off the coast West Cork near Schull.
