Three people a day die from alcohol related illnesses in Ireland
Alcphol Action Ireland, is calling for the proposed Public Alcohol Bill to be implemented urgently
However some members of the Seanad have raised concerns about the effect it will have on small shops and retailers, and of the restrictions on how alcohol is displayed.
The Bill is due to be debated again in the chamber on Wednesday.
