Threshold: Many people in Cork concerned about having a roof over their heads

The organisation says it's concerned a proposed extension to the eviction ban won't include all renters in arrears
The Residential Tenancies Bill will only extend protections to those who've lost income due to Covid-19 and who've declared it to the Residential Tenancies Board.
It's hoped the eviction ban will be extended for three months beyond its current expiry of April 12th.
Speaking to RedFM News CEO of Threshold, John Mark McCafferty, says they have been fielding calls from tenants across Cork who don't know where they stand as the legislation keeps changing:
"A lot of things the government has done to protect tenants are very, very positive. However, with every change and with every new piece of legislation, it becomes more challenging for private renters to know exactly what their rights and responsibilities are. And so, we've seen a lot of calls from renters across Cork city and county, about the the changing legislation, and tenants needs advice. And they came to Threshold for that advice."
