The condition, otherwise known as a blot clot, usually begins in the legs but can travel to the lungs and can lead to death if left untreated.

Fionnuala Ní Áinle (NEE-OIN-LA) is a consultant who specialises in thrombosis at the Mater Hospital in Dublin - she says it's important to know symptoms and get checked right away.
