Trade in Cork city suffering as bus strike continues

Trade in Cork has dropped by up to 50% and jobs are at risk as a direct result of the Bus Eireann dispute.
That's according to Cork Business Association which says shops are being forced to close early and staff hours are being reduced in response to the fall in demand..
The CBA has repeated it's call on the Transport Minister to step in an resolve the dispute which is now in it's 12th day...
SIPTU and the National Bus and Rail Union say they are willing to go into talks at the Workplace Relations Commission if they are called in later this week.
In the meantime the strike is biting in the city with a major drop in footfall..
Speaking to RedFM News the CBA's Lawrence Owens says if people change their shopping pattern due to the strike it will be very difficult to attract them back into the city..
