Traders in Blackpool hit out at being left out

It follows Cork City Council's new Living City Plan.

Locals in Blackpool say they're furious that the village has been excluded from Cork City Council's new 'Living City Plan'.

The initiative which was designed to regenerate local areas of historic value provides a tax incentive to potential buyers.

Traders say they're angry that Blackpool has not been included in the plans as the village is already struggling and dealing with high rates of dereliction.

It comes as plans go on display today in the Commons Inn for the planned new neighbouring town Monard.

AUDIO: Speaking to RedFM News local trader Ger Buckley says Blackpool needs to be included and he's called on parties to attend talks.
