Traders Say The Real Test Of The Private Car Ban On Patrick Street Will Be Next Week

Drivers who flout the ban will eventually face penalty points
The real test of the Patrick Street private car ban will come next week.
That's according to Patrick Street trader Donie Walsh of Con Murphy's Menswear, who made the prediction as it's revealed drivers who flout the ban will eventually face penalty points
The controversial ban was re-introduced three weeks ago to allow for consultation with traders following an outcry after they said their takings and footfall were down significantly
With the start of the new school and college terms next week, traders will be watching the situation closely.
Speaking to RedFM News, Donie Walshe from Con Murphy Menswear says penalty points will only drive more people out of the city
