Travel chaos averted at Cork, Dublin and Shannon airports

There is some relief for Cork air passengers this morning as two days of planned strikes next week by cabin crew at Aer Lingus have now been averted. It comes after after management and union officials spent more than ten hours in talks at the Labour Court. Up to 80,000 passengers would have had their travel plans disrupted if the industrial action went ahead next Monday and Wednesday. The Labour Court will issue recommendations today, aimed at resolving the dispute over rosters at Aer Lingus. It is expected they will include a proposal for the airline to introduce a new roster put forward by cabin crew on a trial basis. Assistant General Secretary of Impact Michael Landers believes customers won't need to worry about any more strikes in the next few months: Click the PLAY button above to hear.
