Tributes Have Been Paid To A Cork Man Who Died In A Car Crash Yesterday

PJ Byrne who was in his 50s died after the car he was driving collided with an oil truck on the Midleton to Whitegate Road. 

Staff at Cork College of Commerce, where PJ Byrne worked as a caretaker, have expressed their shock at the news of his death. 

The college say staff are shell shocked and describe him as part of the family.

The Whitegate to Midleton road was closed for a time to facilitate a technical exam while the body was removed to Cork University Hospital.
