Tributes pour in for Cork student who died following a tragic swimming incident in the US last week
Philip Leahy from Ballyhooly got into difficulty while swimming with friends at Ocean City on Wednesday
He had just completed his honours degree in Business Studies at CIT and had travelled to Maryland on a J1.
The 22 year old suffered a cardiac arrest and was being treated at Atlantic General Hospital but he sadly passed away last night.
A crowdfunding page set up by members of the Ballyhooley community has raised over €93,00 to support his family.
Speaking to RedFM News Dr Dan Collins of the Academic Affairs and Student Administration at CIT offered his deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
