Trump labelled a 'pretend leader'
Donald Trump has been labelled a 'pretend leader by the man appointed to manage the covid 19 crisis in New York.
It comes following another night of demonstrations across the US over the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.
Tensions have escalated since President Trump warned he would deploy the military to deal with any violence.
Limerick man Michael Dowling is President and CEO of Northwell Health, a major health company in New York.
He says the President's words have an impact on what is happening on the streets.
"You have a president that in my view gives oxygen to hate and discord, who promotes discord, promotes disunity and division, takes advantage of it.
"It's inconceivable to think that kind of behaviour by what I would call a pretend leader does not have an affect on what goes on on the ground."
