TUI staff at CIT set to mount protest

Members of the TUI at Cork Institute of Technology will mount a protest today over the pressure being put on their services.
The demonstration is to highlight concerns over funding, staffing levels, work load and employment status.
It is part of a national protest being held at institutes of technology across the country and will get underway at noon.
Members of the trade union claim that the sector has seen a 25% cut to funding over the last seven years.
Lecturers and researchers are also set to be balloted by the TUI in the coming weeks on industrial action - up to and including strike action.
