Two Cork Towns Designated As Rent Pressure Zones
Fermoy and Midleton have been designated as rent pressure zones
The Housing Minister will announce the introduction of 19 new rent-pressure zones today.
It's after rents increased by 8.3 per cent over the past year, with the average bill being nearly €1,200 a month.
That's according to new figures from the Residential Tenancies Board.
Its director, Rosalind Carroll, says that in the new zones, landlords won't be able to hike rents by more than 4 per cent a year.
