Two Men Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Timmy Hourihan In Cork City Remain In Custody

Two men arrested in connection with the murder Timmy Hourihane remain in Garda custody this morning.

The 53 year old homeless father of one was found with serious injuries to his head and body on a green area of Mardyke Walk where he was living in a tent on the 13th of October.

He later died at Cork University Hospital.

It's understood Gardaí seized items of clothing and footwear from a number of suspects a few weeks ago and sent them to the State Laboratory.

Gardai arrested a 26 year old man from Mayfield in the City centre and a 37 year old Kerry man in the midlands yesterday.

They remain at the Bridewell and Portlaoise Garda Stations.
