Two West Cork Paramedics Honoured Today At The National Bravery Awards In Dublin

Advanced Paramedic Olive Murphy and Paramedic James Hennessy were presented with Certificates of Bravery

The two were on duty at Clonakilty Ambulance Station during the Status Red weather warning and they braved the elements of Storm Ophelia to save an elderly woman whose supply of supplemental oxygen was shut off due to power cuts.

The pair used crowbars and hacksaws to clear the roads of debris and fallen trees before transporting the woman to Bantry Hospital
