UCC Students Advised Further Meningitis Cases Are Unlikely
Students at UCC are being advised by public health officials that further cases of meningitis at the college are unlikely.
It comes after the death of a student who died suddenly of meningitis last Thursday
Grainne O'Donnell, was laid to rest yesterday and her family requested donations for the Hope Foundation, where she had worked as a volunteer, instead of flowers.
The Cork charity which operates in Calcutta, issued a statement offering their condolences to Grainne's family and friends and said their thoughts are with those who were privileged to know her..
A letter from the HSE is being distributed to all UCC students this week which outlines the symptoms of the illness.
