UCC To Be Recognised For Promotion of Gender Equality

University College Cork has received a prestigious award for its promotion of gender equality in higher education.
UCC is only the third college in Ireland to be given the Bronze Athena SWAN award.
The award aims to improve the representation of women in higher education particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine and Mathematics subjects.
The University showed it has a solid foundation in place to remove barriers to women's progress in STEMM disciplines, by developing a three year action plan promoting openness and diversity.
