University College Cork Is The Number 1 College In The World For Sustainability And Recycling Efforts
That's according to a new poll from The Times Higher Education
The poll ranked universities around the world on how commited they are to achieving the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.
Since 2007, UCC has cut its carbon emissions by 36%, while also planting 2,500 trees on campus.
The college received particularly high praise for its Green Campus programme, which is actively improving recycling facilities and waste management at the university.
UCC topped the poll, which considered over 450 institutions from over 76 countries across the world.
