Untreated sewage is being discharged into lakes, rivers and coastal areas around the country

The EPA report identified 11 areas in Cork


Irish Water says it's pumping 2 billion euro into fixing sewage issues identified by the EPA.

A new report published by the Environmental Protection Agency today shows untreated sewage is being discharged into lakes, rivers and coastal areas in 45 locations around the country.

11 areas in Cork were identified in the report including Ballycotton, Castletownbere, Castletownshend, Cobh, Whitegate and Youghal 

Irish Water says it expects to end that practice by 2021 through a 2 billion euro investment in water infrastructure.
