Urgent appeal for more recruits to Cork City garda division
The call comes from the GRA.
The Garda Representative Association has made an urgent appeal for the deployment of more recruits to the Cork City garda division.
Over the past seven years the division has lost approximately 100 members of the force and the GRA has described the deployment of five members out of the recent batch of 100 recruits from Templemore as unacceptable.
They're now calling on the Government to provide a means to deploy additional gardaí to the city as they say manpower is under severe pressure.
AUDIO: Speaking to RedFM News the GRA's CEC member for Cork City Michael Corcoran says the bottom line is that they need more than five new recruits.
