Vera Twomey To Meet Health Minister Today
A mother from North Cork, who released a harrowing video of her young daughter suffering from seizures in an effort to pressurise health officials in order to get treatment for her, is to meet the Health Minister today.
Vera Twomey's daughter Ava has Dravat Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, which can see her suffer as many as 20 seizures a day.
On Tuesday Vera released a video to TV3 News of Ava suffering from a severe seizure to highlight her campaign for access to medicinal cannabis which helps to control and reduce Ava's seizures.
Despite some positive moves in regard to the cannabis oil from the Health Minister, Vera is still waiting for the treatment to be approved.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Vera says her daughter's life is on the line.
