Water charges to be discussed ahead of weekend protest action

The contentious issue of water charges are to be discussed by senior Government Ministers again today But no announcement's expected after the meeting of the Economic Management Council with Government sources saying they are determined to take time to get any new package of measures right. The meeting comes ahead of over 50 demonstrations which are taking place in towns and cities across the country inlcuding Cork, Clonakilty and Bandon this Saturday in protest at water charges.
