Water network across Cork experiencing difficulties

Its due to high demand and the ongoing occurrence of water leaks.

The City Council is asking the public not to leave taps running and to restrict water usage to essential purposes only 
 
In the county Irish Water is advising customers that some water treatment plants are struggling to keep up with supply demands
 
Yesterday a power outage at the water treatment in Mallow meant the production of water stopped and water levels in the reservoir dropped significantly leading to loss of supply or pressure for some customers.
 
Supplies were re-directed from other areas as it was unsafe for repair crews to attend the site
 
A number of customers have had supply disruptions along with some customers in West Cork notably in Allihies and parts of Baltimore
 
A number of burst pipes have also been reported in the Cobh area.
