"We Are Sleep Walking Into Oblivion"

That's the message from Ryanair's Chief Executive Officer who says unless travel restrictions are eased the airline will have no choice but to close its Cork and Shannon base.
He made the comments at a crisis meeting held at Cork Airport this morning with Cork members of the Oireachtas, where calls were made for an enhanced contact tracing system to be implemented at airports and the non-essential travel message to be weakened.
Speaking to RedFM News Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson says their business with Cork airport is at a critical point and its future is hanging in the balance:
Cork TD Holly Cairns attended the first briefing this morning and she told RedFM News that a proper contact tracing and testing system needs to be implemented so airports can resume activity and the economy can be protected:
