Woman Arrested In Connection With Death Of Two Year Old Santina Cawley

The woman in her 30s has been taken into custody in the past hour
A woman in her 30's has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of 2 year old Santina Cawley in Cork City.
Garda Press have confirmed to RedFM News that the woman was arrested at a house in the city just before midday by detectives from Anglesea Street and is being held at Gurranabraher Garda Station.
Gardaí launched a murder investigation on Saturday following a post mortem examination on the toddler who was found at the Elderwood Park complex on the Boreenmanna Road at 5:20 Friday morning.
Neighbours who reported hearing shouting from the apartment alerted Gardaí, who discovered the child with severe injuries
She later died in the arms of her mother at Cork University Hospital.
