Woman pleads guilty to Bandon murder

A woman has pleaded guilty to the murder of John Forrester whose body was found in the River Bandon two years ago. Catherine O’Connor, a native of Kinsale, entered her plea at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin. She was arraigned this morning and pleaded guilty on a single count of murder. She’s admitted killing John Forrester at Bridge House in Bandon, Co Cork on November 12 2011. Forrester, a 42 year old father of four, was from Blackpool in England but had been living in Bandon for a number of years. His body was found in the river. O’Connor who was dressed today in black boots, trousers and a hooded jacket, is facing a mandatory life sentence but the court will first hear details of the murder.
